Brent and I have exciting news! This January we’ll head to cooking school at Cook the Farm in Sicily. Cook the Farm is a 10-week intensive program that covers everything from wine to honey, wheat and grains to olive oil. And it’s in Sicily, on a farm and vineyard cultivated by Anna Tasca Lanza, a pioneer of Sicilian cuisine.

Her daughter Fabrizia leads the program of 12 students.

We’re excited to be a part of it — excited to get to know Sicily and the Mediterranean — and excited to have time to think deeply about food and the land and cooking.

We’ll post updates on this blog and hope you’ll join us vicariously on this adventure. Incredibly enough, Marieke first learned about the program on another blogger’s site — the lovely Luisa Weiss wrote it about years ago on The Wednesday Chef. We’re glad she stumbled on it then and even more glad to be headed there together, now.

We’ll continue to post updates, but in the meantime, if you have any eating or travel suggestions, we’d love to hear them!
